LHFC 4 Mitch FC 5 (AET)
Today Fans at Walton Hall Park were treated to a classic cup tie in the 2nd round of the Saturday Intermediate Cup today.
The match started and in the 5th Minute Mitch FC took the lead with there second chance of the match, despite LHFC dominance we could not find the equalizer, and on another day may have been awarded two penalties. Another break away before half time , saw Mitch FC score against the run of play, to take a 2-0 lead into the break.

The second half began the way the majority of the first half went, with LHFC asking questions, breaking down an organised Mitch FC defence on numerous occasions.
Then Midfielder Tony Gray was found in the box, and up popped Martin McClure to score a rebound after the goalkeeper saved the penalty.
Mitch FC broke away and quickly restored there two goal advantage and went 3-1 up. LHFC kept pressing, before Gary Purcell headed in a cross to make it 3-2, , two mates late Jay Purcell lathed on to a through ball to make it 3-3 with 17 minutes to go. While LHFC might have had the better chances, Mitch FC were coming back into the game.

Extra time started, with new winger brandon hitting it in at the far post to make it 4-3 to LHFC, however 2 minutes before half time Mitch FC equalized.
While in the second half, both teams were trying hard to get the winner, with 4 minutes to go The Mitch FC right winger sped away from our defence , and was clipped , outside the area, however the referee, awarded a penalty to everyone’s surprise, which Mitch FC duly converted.
Once again the LHFC lads at times played brilliant football,and a great spirit to fight back,however if you don’t score your chances you don’t win Football Matches.
