EvertonPLH 6 LHFC 1
LHFC were up against it from the start, with two of the back four out, and infulential midfielder Craig Jenkins out, 30 minutes before Kick off , news filtered through that Captain Martin McClure, ruled out with a groin injury. This left Michael Edwards as the only regular member of the back four.
Hopes were boosted with Liam senior making his debut.
The game began as it was to be most of the a game with EPL attacking, and there two forwards taking advantage of the makeshift back four.
Within two minutes EPL went ahead, and should have been 2 or three up before Ray Dermott got his 29th of the season with a great finish to make it 1-1.
LHFC were forced to make another change when Player coach Eric Horton, had to come off with an hamstring.
LHFC were living on the edge with the speed of the EPLH attack, and a few great saves by Keeper Andy Atherton kept LHFC in the game,
However it wasn’t all one way , LHFC had a few more chances in the first half and the attack of Ray and Mark were causing a few problems . However Everton went in 3-1 at half time.
The second half was mostly the same EPLH making the most of the lack of pace in the back four, However LHFC had more chances and probably should have scored a few themselves in the second half.
The final score was 6-1.
Its fair to point out LHFC had 4 key players injured for this game and one more who could not turn up, so the players who came in done a battling Job against a side going for the title, Liam had a great debut and showed more to come.
It was a competitive game against two sides in the CMS that use football to change Lives! So good luck to EPLH
Man of the Match:
Liam senior impressed on his debut , and all the team never stopped. but MOM will go to keeper Andy Atherton who really kept the Everton score down at times.
