Early start too much for light blues

Claremont 4 LHFC 2

Due to the Merseyside Derby today’s game at Breckside Park was an early kick off.

The game started well for LHFC  went they went ahead in the 15th Minute through a strike from Mark O Neil, LHFC should have had a few more, and missed a few chances, This allowed claremont to get a grip on the game. Andy Atherton in goal for LHFC pulled off a few saves, as LHFC struggled to get a grip in the game, Claremont were denied what looked like a penalty in the 30th Minute, it wasnt long before The home side equalized.

HT 1-1

The second half started the same with Claremont piling on the pressure and it wasnt long before they made it 2-1 , then 3-1 before going 4 -1 up with 20 minutes to go.

LHFC woke up and started to put pressure on the hosts, and Craig jenkins scored an exqisuite chip from the edge of the area.  despite last ten minutes Pressure the game finished 4-2, no complaints from LHFC the best team won

Team  Andy Atherton, Terry Corrigan, Lee Green, John cronin, Martin Mclure, Mark Oneill, Ray Dermott, Craig Jenkins, Dave Brotheridge,Michael Edwards, Danny Leonard .

Goals: Mark O Neil, Craig Jenkins

MOM: Michael Edwards was solid as full back in his first start, he rarley lost a tackle, Craig Jenkins scored a brilliant goal and was always a threat when he had the ball, however Andy Atherton on his debut in goal, kept LHFC in the hunt with a string of great saves so he just pips it.
