LHFC Pay the Penalty

LHFC 2 Yew Tree 2

Both sides shared a point each today in the Margret Lloyd Cup.

LHFC  were boosted by the return of Chris Parkinson, Leon Walker and club captain Martin McClure. The side were also boosted with a debut from Joey Savin.

Yew tree took the lead when a cross from the right side found a striker unmarked to head home, very soon after that Chris Parkinson, made it 1 apiece with a goal from a free kick on the edge of the box.

Once again the speed of Yew tree forwards were keeping the LHFC  defence and keeper on there toes, however the yew tree keeper as the busiest making three great saves. LHFC were given a penalty for handball however this was hit over the bar by debutant Joey Savin.

The second  half began more lively for LHFC, but Yew tree were dangerous on the counter  attack and once again a gross from the right led to a goal for Yew tree.

The chances kept coming for LHFC  and a few good saves by yew tree keeper and woeful finishing kept it 2-1 however Chris Parkinson  found himself in space in the box and slotted past the keeper to make it 2-2.

15 minutes to go neither side could find the winner so a point each.
