The Women against Domestic violence cup came about when local MP Luciana Berger approached us for a match.
We came up with the idea to have a competition but one that will get bigger on international women’s day to raise awareness of domestic violence.
A large proportion of women who come into Homeless Services have suffered some sort of domestic abuse so we when we spoke about it with the girls they were more than happy.
Were pleased to have the support of luciana Berger along with or other sponsors to launch this cup today, and were talking with Liverpool County FA, power league Domestic violence service to get a bigger tournament for international women’s day every year.
The message today from Luciana and friends and LHFC Domestic violence in any form is not acceptable NO 2 DOMESTIC VIOLENCE.
The match was fun & competitive with both teams giving it all, LHFC girls ran were the eventual winners, the final score being 9 – 3.
