Liverpool Homeless Football Club’s mission is to offer sports, health and wellbeing opportunities to the most vulnerable members of our community, helping them to reach their full potential through participation in football.
Liverpool Homeless Football Club is a registered charity that was set up for people who are affected by homelessness. Since 2007  we have established a homeless league that brings together many homelessness organisations across Merseyside. We also run a women’s project as well as other community events throughout the year.
Â
We recognise the power of football to bring people together and engage people in a healthy and social activity. LHFC use it as the catalyst to help our players get their lives back on track. As well as improving fitness, LHFC help players into training, employment, healthy living and long term accommodation.
Â
Since establishing the league in 2007, we have broken down many myths and stereotypes that affect people that are homeless. We aim to continue providing support for our clients.
As a Coach & Engagement Officer, Shane is passionate about using football as a tool to
change lives. Having experienced his own journey of transformation through the club, he
understands first-hand the power that sport, support, and opportunity can have on individuals
facing difficult circumstances.
Today he is dedicated to helping others rebuild confidence, develop new skills, and realise
their potential both on and off the pitch. His mission is simple, to inspire hope, create positive
change, and show no matter where you start in life, football can open doors to a brighter
future. Through empathy, lived experience, and a genuine commitment to others, he strives
to make a lasting difference in the lives of the people he works with every day.
